Exclusive Interview with The PChanger
Megan: Hello! This is Helen Anchors signing on. Welcome, and thanks for reading, today I have with me PChanger and he is going to answer some questions on how his YouTube channel got started, and different little things you may find to be of interest to you! :)
PChanger: You make a good reporter. LOL! Nice introduction.
Megan: Thanks. Now PChanger, I have a couple questions for you, are you ready to be grilled? ;)
PChanger: I love grilled cheese! IT'S AMAZING! :D
Helen Anchors: …
PChanger: Oh, that’s not what you meant though, (ahem), uh…right. Wow, that’s awkward…um yeah I am ready. :)
Helen Anchors: Ok then, I see that even in the evenings you can be full of energy. I guess that is a good thing considering there have been many nights you have stayed up late working on your short films, is that true?
PChanger: Yes, I'm a vampire. I wake up in the evenings from about, 7:00-10:00p.m. . :D
Helen Anchors: Ah, I see. So PChanger, tell me, what made you want to start doing short films?
PChanger: Well…hmm…let me see I think I was 9 years old, YES, THAT’S IT!!! When I was 9 years old, I had a friend of mine (Jordan) come to visit the new house my family and I had just moved into, and I did a little video with him. He had brought a video camera with him and we made this really stupid hour long video called, Luke the idiot, spelled "Luke the itot" (because I’m such a great speller…). Which was a lot of fun to make, but my acting completely stunk, and it was very boring to watch. Nonetheless, I had such a good time with it that after we had finished it I realized I loved filming. A bit later I made a video about Paul, my Sunday school teacher. I had just recently gotten a new camera, and had brought it to church with me, during that time I recorded him preaching, and then later my dad gave me the idea to edit the recording on the computer with Windows Movie Maker. So I did, and it surprisingly turned out really funny, but you probably would not have gotten it unless you were in the class. OH and there was that other stupid video I made with Jordan called “the sad story of let go the frog” (basically I caught a frog and we made a video of me letting it go).
Helen Anchors: Well, I guess as most people would say you have to start somewhere, obviously your short films have become much better since the time when you were so young, and I see your desire to film started somewhat early too! It is so encouraging to see someone pursuing a dream that they had since their childhood. Now, I have another question for you: Where, would you say the inspiration for your short films comes from? Your own thoughts? Friends? Suggestions from "randoms" at the grocery store?
PChanger: Well, it depends on which video we are talking about, “Sorry Dad I Broke Your Chair” was completely my Dad’s idea and I give him all the credit for it. On the other hand, “Geek Torture” was inspired by my friend Jordan, the actual idea was mostly mine, but we had originally been talking about how his teacher in school should just bring in old computer parts and break them to punish him/his friends instead of giving detention as punishment.
The inspiration for “Epic Peanut Butter” came when I was with my friend Richard in the pool last summer, and he randomly said to me, "You know it would be funny if peanut butter was evil".
Also, Jordan had a new idea a few weeks ago that I am working on right now involving: auto-correct, evil super computers, and ninjas -- of course, that is for a later interview. :)
Helen Anchors: Wow, well way to get people interested in this newfound "mystery video". ;) I can't wait to do another interview with you on this upcoming “mystery video” turns out, I am quite intrigued. Until then I must continue, I have more questions that I hope will bring some funny interesting things into light about you, and your past history in doing YouTube videos. :) Now for my next question, if you could choose a favorite out of all the videos you have done, which would you say you are most proud of?
PChanger: Well personally, I think that “8 Ways NOT to Fill Saltshaker” is my funniest video. It took me about 9 hours to edit, and I put a lot of work into it. I had to do a lot of rendering, realizing there was a problem, and re-rendering. The video I put the most time into though was “Epic Peanut Butter”, it took over 6 months to get from "You know it would be funny if peanut butter was evil." to what you have seen on YouTube.
…
Do you like mushrooms?
They are all squishy, and have an awesome texture. There also especially good when they are served with that brown sauce. :D
Helen Anchors: No, I am actually allergic to them.
PChanger: Oh, well poor you. :,(
Helen Anchors: Yes.
PChanger: Excuse me while I go cry for 6 months. :P
Helen Anchors: I'm sorry but you’re going to have to wait til’ this interview is done.
PChanger: Ok, fine.
Helen Anchors: How long can we expect The PChanger to continue making short films for us? And please…don't tell me there will be a 6 month break period set aside for your crying!!!!!
PChanger: Ok fine you have convinced me not to cry.
Helen Anchors: Oh well that is good.
PChanger: I am planning on making movies until I run out of ideas, if you haven’t noticed there will often be long pauses between each time a video is released. That is generally because when I have one idea
I come up with 6 all at once. Then, I take the best few ideas I have and make them into funny YouTube videos, and after I am done with those videos… no matter how hard I try I can think of absolutely NOTHING to film next that would be funny for another couple weeks. Then…all of a sudden! When I finally begin to think I am completely out of ideas, BAM! More ideas come; it’s kind of weird, and annoying at the same time.
Helen Anchors: Amazing, well I must say the wait is well worth it. Could you say you are trying to pursue this as maybe being a full time career someday?
PChanger: Well making short videos for YouTube would be my dream job. It seems perfect; basically you are paid for making 2 minutes and 13 seconds of a person’s life happier.
Helen Anchors: If this dream job, for some reason, did not work out what job profession would you have an interest in?
PChanger: Hmm… I don’t know I’m sure it would relate to computers or filming of some kind. I am pretty good at graphic design. That is something else I could be do, I guess. :)
Helen Anchors: Well considering you’re a geek I am sure those would all be "expected' job professions for someone who has such a love for technology, and all of its constant new changes. Now, PChanger, would you say there have been some actors or crew members that you have found to be hard to work with at anytime in your filming, directing, and editing experience?
PChanger: ...
**Pauses…stares directly into camera … (close up on my face) … the entire world begins moving in slow motion with an odd echo effect.**
‘”Charlie arlie arlie”
Cameraman: HEY! THERE'S a guy outside who is asking when were gonna get the earth back on normal speed are you done yet?
PChanger:
**Camera zooms out and the world returns to a normal speed … without the echo effect.**
Charlie is fun, but he is also difficult to film with, he is extremely sarcastic, (if your mom" "shut up!" and "meh" count as sarcasm). Also, whenever I get an "ok" take during the filming process, he decides that it must be the most wonderful one we could possibly get, and then he becomes upset because I want to keep re-filming just to see if we can do a little better. It is a bit frustrating. Don’t get me wrong he is awesome, but he can also be a pain to film. On the other hand, Richard (Mr. Smith in “Epic Peanut Butter”) and Alex (head ninja in an up-coming video)
are amazing to film with, no matter how many times I tell them I want them to try it again they (for the most part) do whatever I ask without complaint.
Helen Anchors: Well, I can definitely see there is a bit of controversy, and tension in your relationship with Charlie. I do remember in a past interview I did with the “all famous” Charlie, who starred in your short film “Geek Torture Part 2 - Charlie Torture”, he mentioned to me that you tend to be severely picky, is this true??
PChanger: Yes that is true, but only about my movies. I try my best to make sure the quality of my YouTube videos is as good as possible with my current equipment. While I could use one of his "ok" takes, I would rather spend an extra 15 minutes to get an amazing one. Oh also, in that interview you did with Charlie…
Helen Anchors: Yes?
Lukie: I noticed you said you, “…couldn't help but gaze into those lovely eyes…” XD. Well, in my opinion they really are not all that beautiful.
Your eyes are much prettier than his!
…just saying. :P
Helen Anchors: Well you know, between you and me, and the people reading this, I must say reporters are very good when it comes to sarcasm. Oh, and thank you for your lovely compliment on my eyes. :)
PChanger: You’re welcome! :)
Hey! Do you want to play a game?
It goes like this…so what you do is we both look around the room, and try and find something that could be used to kill someone! :D
I will go first! Hmmm…oh! A light switch!
The way you would do that would be like this: grab their head, and then-
Megan: Um, no I think I will pass on that game. :) Now, I have a bit of a question, pertaining to your busy schedule, and whether or not you would be willing to be on "My Talk Show" with me Helen Anchors to do a filmed interview with Charlie on some of your differences and controversies, maybe to see if we can get some things straightened out between you too, what do you think?
PChanger: Ok, but only on one condition…
Helen Anchors: Which would be?
Lukie: That I get to edit it to make Charlie look like an idiot, and me look like a genius! :D
…actually never mind! I don’t need to edit it to make him look like an idiot, it comes naturally for him! XD
:)
Helen Anchors: I'm sorry but the interviews I do are not for entertainment, but for only highly informational needs.
PChanger: bla bla bla
Helen Anchors: I would be happy to have in the interview some humor, but I would like people to see the truth of how things really turn out with you two.
PChanger: In that case I will look like a genius, and make Charlie look like an idiot. :D
Oh!!!! What do you think I should wear?
….hmm
Helen Anchors: Well, I'm not your fashion designer, but maybe just some normal casual clothes?
PChanger: OH! I KNOW!
A dress made out of raw meat!
Helen Anchors: Oh my. I'm sorry but if you look under rule # 8743743769733 after my attempt to interview Lady Gaga we made it illegal for meat dresses to be used on set…there were some concerns on the smell…especially when she was in the heat gosh that meat started to smell.
PChanger: Oh, I forgot Lady Gaga already did that
Stupid copy cat…
Oh! I know!!! My alpha geek outfit!
Helen Anchors: Oh well, I will be excited to see such an outfit. Now, would you say your family is supportive of your YouTube channel, and the short films that you produce?
PChanger: Oh yeah definitely! My mom particularly, she highly supports my filming, and editing for YouTube videos. Although “Geek Torture Part 2 - Charlie Torture” did bore her to death
(I WONDER why [**Entire world begins moving in slow motion with an odd echo effect…sharp intake of breath through nose…stares directly into camera**]) “Charlie arlie arlie” XP
Helen Anchors: Intriguing, very intriguing indeed. I would never have guessed that it would be boring for her. I found it to be quite humorous myself…but then again, maybe it was because I know him at more of a personal friend level than she does. :)
What would you say, looking back on filming your past short films, is the funniest moment you remember?
PChanger: Hmmm…
Well, I do have to say I had a wonderful time filming “Geek Torture” (as seen in the bloopers). Though I can’t remember any of the specifics as to all that went on, I just remember having a lot of fun and sharing many laughs with my friend Jordan.
Helen Anchors: I could tell from the bloopers that you had much fun filming, editing, and producing “Geek Torture”.
PChanger: Yep! BTW: Did you know that it was like 2 or 3 in the morning when we filmed “Geek Torture”?
Helen Anchors: No I had no idea!!! You guys must have been tired when all was said and done!
PChanger: Haha, yeah..
Helen Anchors: Would you say for your future videos that you are open to idea suggestions? If so, how could the people reading this contact you if they so desired as to share a film idea with you?
PChanger: Oh yes, definitely! I am always open to suggestions! Just remember that all my videos are PG - THAT MEANS I AM NOT MAKING A VIDEO ABOUT A DRUG DEALER WHO GETS SNIPED IN THE HEAD JOHNNY!
Also remember, I am a perfectionist-ish with my videos so if you send an idea in it does not mean I will use it, you should also remember that the final may be edited significantly.
Helen Anchors: So consider most of the ideas people send in to be only inspirations, unless you find them to be truly amazing.
PChanger: Yes, but I will make sure to thank you in the description of my video for the idea/inspiration.
Oh! Haha!!! I just realized I did not tell you how to contact me!
All you need to do is go to my website: www.pchanger.webs.com , and click the “Submit a Video” tab…or just click this convenient link http://pchanger.webs.com/submitavideoidea.htm
TADA!
Magic :)
Anything you submit there I will see most likely within 12 hours. Also if you want to ask me a question, email me at thepchanger@gmail.com but please send me movie ideas through my website.
Helen Anchors: Awesome! :) Well thank you PChanger for doing this interview with me, and I hope to see you again soon on "My Talk Show" while interviewing both you AND Charlie. Thanks also to anyone reading, I hope you found this to be interesting to you! :) This is Helen Anchors signing off with a goodnight to you all.
PChanger: WAIT!!!! It was too short!!! You can’t end now!!! NOOOOOO!!!!
Helen Anchors: CUTS TO BLACK
Can we get his therapist out here?
PChanger: You cannot cut text to black!!! Text is generally already black…right?
WAIT! Why do we need a therapist?
I don’t need a…..
The End
PChanger: P.S. Did you know that if you add a space to the word therapist in just the right place…
